Who we are and how to contact us
This policy describes how BlueShadow handles information through blueshadow.me and the BlueShadow apps. For privacy questions, access, correction or deletion requests, email admin@blueshadow.me. Tell us which account or content your request concerns. We may ask for information to verify your request; never send your password.
Information you provide
We process account information such as email address, optional phone number, display name, profile picture, age band and settings. We also process posts, comments, reports, uploaded documents and media, messages, call information, sponsorship inquiries and information you submit for support. Please avoid publishing private information about yourself or others.
SOS location sharing
Pressing the SOS button immediately requests your location and starts sharing an SOS pin with your current followers, without a separate form or confirmation. Your browser or device may first require location permission. When you share an SOS, BlueShadow stores your selected location, accuracy, sharing time, expiry and your chosen audience, optional details and optional photo. Choose all current followers or up to five BS contacts. Active shared alerts appear in their Map Drops. Access is limited to you and your selected audience; blocked members cannot view the alert, and follower access ends when they unfollow. Sharing expires after 30 minutes; Stop sharing ends access sooner and removes active recipient copies. Expired records may remain in restricted storage until removed under our retention practices. Follower notifications are processed in the background and can be delayed or fail. Device receipt is not guaranteed. Notifications do not contain coordinates, details or photos. Sharing is a point-in-time location, not continuous background tracking, and does not dispatch emergency services. When you request driving directions, the starting point and destination are sent to the FOSSGIS OpenStreetMap routing service. Map providers receive ordinary connection information when their tiles load.
Country-specific politician records
When you choose Use my current location, your device requests location permission. BlueShadow resolves the device coordinates against country boundaries on its server and saves only the country and a ten-minute access expiry in the country-access record, not the precise coordinates. Country access is based on the location your device reports, rather than the saved profile country. The verified owner account has all-country administrative access. Denied or unavailable location prevents regional record access until you retry. Location readings and boundary data can be inaccurate near borders; a device can also report a simulated location.
Public content and records
Public profiles, posts, comments, reports, live broadcasts and map drops can be seen by other people and may be copied or shared. Public records may come from official or independent sources. A record or allegation is not, by itself, a finding of misconduct. Contact us to report inaccurate information or request a review. Removing content from BlueShadow cannot remove copies held by others.
How we use information
We use information to sign you in, display and deliver content, support conversations and calls, send requested notifications, process inquiries, maintain safety, investigate abuse, diagnose problems and operate and improve the service. We may disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, rights and the service.
Devices, cookies and storage
Our hosting and service providers may process IP addresses, browser and device details, authentication information, timestamps and diagnostic logs. BlueShadow uses browser or device storage for sign-in and preferences, including playback settings. Blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in or other features from working.
Location, camera, microphone and notifications
Features may ask for location, camera, microphone or notification permission. You can control these permissions in your browser or device settings. A location or address you publish in a report or map drop may become public. Calls and live features process audio and video through communications providers, including LiveKit. Messages and calls are not represented as end-to-end encrypted. Push delivery uses device tokens and notification providers, including Expo and the mobile operating-system services.
Service providers and external media
We use Google Firebase for services including authentication, database, file storage, hosting and server functions. Media, maps and directions may use services such as YouTube, Internet Archive, OpenFreeMap and Google Maps. These providers may receive your IP address, device information and requests when their content loads or you use their features; directions services can receive the locations you enter. Their privacy practices also apply. See Firebase privacy information and Google’s privacy policy.
Advertising and your choices
As of this policy’s effective date, BlueShadow’s website AdSense setup is awaiting Google review; website advertising has not been activated. The app feed ad integration is in test mode. If Google advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, IP addresses and device identifiers for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. Where required, a consent message will offer choices before advertising storage or processing. Non-personalized advertising can still use storage for purposes such as fraud prevention and frequency limits. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites and apps and manage Google ad preferences at My Ad Center. BlueShadow does not provide private messages, case allegations, precise location, phone numbers or email addresses to ad units for targeting.
Your controls and privacy requests
Use account privacy and notification settings to manage available controls. You may request access, correction or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability or complaints to a privacy authority. We assess requests under applicable law and may retain information for legal, security or recordkeeping reasons. You can also manage cookies, advertising identifiers and permissions through your browser or device.
SOS and selected phone contacts
You can choose contacts from a supported phone or browser picker, or add them manually. BlueShadow does not upload your entire phone book. Selected names and numbers may be saved on your device; contacts you enable for SOS texts are saved privately to your account. New SOS alerts may send those contacts an SMS through Mobile Text Alerts, including an unlisted link to your shared location. That link expires with the SOS and stops working when you stop sharing. Opening the map uses OpenStreetMap, which receives the map coordinates needed to display it. SMS acceptance by the provider does not confirm delivery to a phone. You can remove a text contact before future alerts or revoke device Contacts permission.
Account deletion and retention
Account deletion removes your sign-in account; it does not automatically erase every public post, shared message, uploaded file or backup. Contact us to request review of associated content. Information is retained as needed for the service and the purposes described here, including safety, legal obligations and resolving disputes. Backup copies and records held by recipients or source publishers may remain after removal from active systems.
Young people
BlueShadow is intended for people aged 13 and older. Teen accounts have additional available safety controls. Do not use BlueShadow if you are under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Security, international processing and changes
We use access controls and other safeguards, but no service can promise absolute security. Our providers may process information outside your country, subject to applicable requirements. We will update this page when practices change and provide additional notice where required. The effective date below identifies the current version.
